Part of 'APPEARANCES' series. In this series artist focuses on how the materials are interacting with each other, changing the look of the surface. Creating this body of work was rather playful and exciting, finding various patterns emerging from the pigments. This collection also has some spiritual meaning, being a metaphor for the gap that exists between our true selves and how we appear to the world. These floating pigments on the outside are more visible than hidden underneath gold leaves. We create various appearances of us, often hiding the real thing. The magic starts to happen when all the masks are removed and the gap is closed. Transparency brings peace to our tired soul.
