Inspired by the lovely deer itself as spotted within the forest while driving through Epping (Essex, UK). It was alive and well within its forest home. Yet the trophy often seen mounted on a wall hints at death. Instead of that I wanted it to hint at life by conjuring up a time of the day in which the deer existed and reflect that onto the surface. With this piece, it is dawn and the use of copper for me reflects the warmth and subdued glow that can occur at that time. The base decoration is a hint at branches of its forest home.

This sculpture is ready for mounting on a wall. It is signed on the reverse of the mount.
