Reduction Linocut - Edition of 10 - Print Only
Image ~ 297x400mm Paper ~ 350x450mm Somerset Satin 250gsm Ink ~ Hawthorn Printmakers Technique ~ Reduction prints are created by the repeated carving, inking & printing of a single linoleum block. This process results in the gradual destruction of the block.
Craig Goch is the top dam in a series of four in the beautiful Elan Valley. The reservoirs were built at the turn of the 20th century to supply water to Birmingham. This print shows the water overtopping the dam after a period of rain.
It is part of a series depicting iconic structures and buildings in the style in of a 1960s travel poster. The key design element in these prints is the extreme reduction of detail - reducing the subject to simple shapes and solid blocks of colour. This is an original, handprinted artwork and is not a digital copy. Please see my profile for my sales, postage & return policies.
