acrylic, gold leaf, and mixed media on canvas, 120 x 90 cm
Tick Lock is inspired by “Tichloch,” a term coined in The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, which describes the unease of never knowing how much time you have left. This acrylic and mixed media work conceptualizes time as a distorted, unquantifiable currency — spent in imperceptible increments.
Through abstract layering and stark contrasts, the work visualises a psychological landscape of existential temporality. The painting invites viewers into a suspended moment where linear chronology dissolves, and emotional time prevails. This piece stands as both a meditation and a warning — a reminder of the fragility of our temporal awareness.
