Ink and acrylic on canvas
Framed size: 54 x 82cm (painted white wood tray frame as pictured)
Inspired by the coastal landscape of northern Iceland, this painting was produced during an art residency at the Baer Art Center situated on the east coast of Skagafjördur, a large fjord facing the Arctic Circle. Lucia’s work returns repeatedly to the sea for inspiration. Looking out to sea, the vision of boundless space allows the eye to wander and this spaciousness offers a feeling of escape from the day to day thought cycles that can preoccupy and possess us. It is this feeling she is trying to recreate within the composition of her paintings.
