A classic American icon, the roadside giant Cowboy "Muffler Man", captured on Richard Heeps' road trip between Mecca and the Salton Sea. Part of a series of pictures by Richard Heeps featuring the torso and head in the setting of the palm trees and desert dust and sun.
This Roadside Giant is called 'Poor Richard', ironic really considering the artists' name, and the sad state of his broken off head. Poor Richard refers to the Almanack published by Benjamin Franklin in between 1732-1758, which was popular for its extensive use of wordplay, and some of the witty phrases coined in the contemporary American vernacular.
This artwork is a limited edition of 25, gloss photographic print, dry-mounted to aluminium, it is presented in a museum board white window mount and a choice of black or white box frame fitted with anti-reflective UV70% glass. It is signed and numbered on reverse and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Handmade to order.
