This is an original 12 × 12 cm oil pastel sketch from my sketchbook, mounted to 20 × 20 cm with a white mount and grey backing board.

I made it while walking through the streets of Penarth one evening after the rain. The light was fading and the street had taken on that brief, strange warmth you only notice at the end of the day. The reds and blues began to merge in a way that felt almost unreal, like the start of a memory rather than the end of a day.

These small studies are part of my personal visual diary. They are quiet observations from my daily life, made on the spot and carried home in my sketchbook. Each one is unique and holds a little piece of the place and the time it was made.
