This is a small mixed-media sculpture 18x18x15cm.
The title is inspired by the the wings which are made from a can of Pellegrino Orange. I find delight in shapes and those making up the wasp are beautiful, I think. My attention, however, was mainly on the delicate wings that can carry a greater weight than itself, so I made a feature of them. In making 3D I enjoy using various materials and juxtaposing them to discover what might emerge. Here I have used tin, wire, clay and alkyd paint. The base is wood finished in acrylic paint.
