Ntate Molebatsi’s envisioned-self“each person who turns to God in genuine repentance and faith will be saved” Ntate Molebatsi’s metanoia is expressed in this episode and is in close relation with episode 6 in such a sequence that after the youth of desolate, only one of the two identical males remain.
The pixels tell a story of a reformation that happens in the mind of every black man throughout life. The reformation brings us back to the main theme of the series which is “free self.” Ntate Molebatsi eradicates the stigma that corelates to our spirituality and depicts how some black man attain their envisioned-self.
The poetry in this episode is illustrated through the bible which was used as a tool to enslave black man in the past. That being a way that Ntate Molebatsi attains his “free self” is very ironic and with repentance being the main theme of this episode, makes us wonder if the reformation taking place is to or from his true identity, his true spirituality as a black man.
