This is a small picture for a private space to be seen up close to enjoy the detail. It’s a gentle artwork of a Comma butterfly alighting in a cottage garden in front of the kitchen window in the soft colours of a misty late-summer evening evoking a feeling of calm and restful peace.
Originally painted in soft pastel green, gold and mauve watercolour on paper using resist and pointillist techniques to lay gentle washes with broken colour. The original is also available.
Exclusive to SOTA: Limited Edition of 40 Giclée Art prints. The images catch the delicate pointillist detail and colours using a Hahnemühle Platinum Certified Studio printing with archive quality inks on eco-friendly bamboo paper.
