Reminding us summer will soon be here and the water lilies will bloom again.
Rooted in earth yet reaching for light, this painting reflects the quiet wisdom of nature and the timeless symbolism of the lotus. Emerging gently from dark waters, delicate water lilies bloom in serene stillness beneath a glowing sun, embodying the journey from shadow to awakening. The flowing ink forms and soft organic textures evoke the calm rhythm of wind, water, and meditation.

Inspired by Zen philosophy and mindful observation of nature, the artwork reminds us that beauty often rises from imperfect beginnings. Like the lotus that grows from deep mud yet blossoms pure above the water, it symbolises resilience, transformation, and spiritual clarity. In Buddhist thought, the lotus represents the path from confusion and suffering toward enlightenment and inner peace. Pulling the abstract in to classical composition, the work is filled with movement and symbolism expressing the purity and hope of the lily and the lotus flower rooted deeply in the water to the muddy soil below. Of man’s experience bathing in  the mud of life to produce the emotional joy and hope we are striving for.
