A digital image highlighting a trio of typically Moroccan wrought iron lanterns. Marrakech is often referred to as 'the pink or red city' because it's walls and buildings, both new and old have been made from the pigment of the local clay. I have ramped up the pink and added some blue from the colour of the sky to show Marrakech's vibrancy and warmth. I like to zoom in on details within a large and somewhat over-whelming city, and these ornate lanterns showcasing pierced metal (and a perfectly perched bird,) celebrate the skill, creation and imagination of the artisans working with wrought iron.
