Świtezianki is a new series currently consisting of four large scale watercolours exploring spectral femininity, lilies and submerged feeling echo with the ambiguity between innocence and danger. There is seduction there, but also judgment and revenge. The series draws loosely from the figure of the Świtezianka - the water nymph of Polish Romantic literature who punishes betrayal - alongside motifs of lilies, ribbons, and the mythical fern flower associated with longing, secrecy, and impossible desire. The release arrives close to midsummer - the season long tied to alluring beings wandering more freely after dusk. Who will you meet after dusk, on midsummer nights?
