The fourth artwork in The Mariner’s Dreams series, this piece introduces a more architectural register into the voyage. For collectors, it marks a turning point: a meditation on guidance and misguidance, where orientation itself becomes uncertain and imagination is required to navigate. The Mariner’s Dream #4 punctuates its surface with navigation buoys — signals of guidance that dissolve into haze when multiplied. Instead of a single beacon, the mariner confronts many, each competing for attention, each undermining certainty. Stair‑like formations and layered terrain reinforce this ambiguity, blurring the line between geology and architecture, between natural rock and human construction. This instability mirrors the fragility of memory, where fragments of place and structure are recalled but never fully resolved. The viewer is left to traverse a terrain that feels both familiar and estranged. As the fourth chapter in the series, the work expands its vocabulary of symbols, foregrounding the motif of orientation itself. For collectors, it is a pivotal piece — a reminder that finding one’s way is as much about interpretation and imagination as it is about fact.
