SOTA Sessions Vol 2 with creative genius and former Head of Communications at Soho Home, Sarah Graham.

What is SOTA Sessions? Our feature where we speak to artists, designers and tastemakers about all things creative. Our aim is to inspire and introduce you to new techniques, tips and add some magic to your day. Because we all need some vibes right now!

🎤What does a typical day look like for you?

“Having a young family means it tends to be bookended with beautiful chaos. Days start early. Lots of coffee is consumed. If I'm working from home in Norfolk I will try and slot in some exercise by mid-morning - veer outside of that time window and all bets are off on the fitness front. A lot of my time is spent writing - whether it's doing media comms for brands, editorial content or pitching to editors - I'm generally thinking about how best to write or tell a story. I'm now in my gardening era so I can generally be found outside in the evening, it's a good way to process the day. When in London I spend time with clients and attending industry events.”

🎤You have a beautiful home with an incredible eye for design, where did this come from?

“I have always appreciated beautiful things but it was studying History of Art that opened the flood gates in terms of design influences. I've been fortunate to work for some incredibly cultural, creative brands including TOPSHOP and Soho House which have definitely influenced me along the way. I also love antiques. There is something special in finding old pieces which have a history, or reupholstering something pre-existing and finding a place for them within the home.”

🎤How would you describe your interior style?

“An assorted slow-burn - I like to take my time and collect pieces that are timeless.”

🎤Are there any brands inspiring you at the moment in terms of cultural collaborations?

“Admittedly this is less 'brand' in the traditional sense, but when it comes to inspiration, I find that some of the best cultural collaborations can be found by way of exhibitions.  The V&A is my favourite spot in London for a dose of culture, and has curated some standout exhibitions, from David Bowie Is, to Hollywood Costume, it never fails to disappoint.”

🎤You work across several industries from art to design to wellness, do you have any fav brands from these industries that we must know about?

“Burnt Fen Flowers, French fabric house, Pierre Frey, LRNCE for ceramics and of course SOTA for art!”
