A wistful, contemplative watercolour painting of a young woman looking through the kitchen window at the garden beyond. I wanted to catch the light and the beautiful hair.
Painted with archive quality watercolours on watercolour paper using resist techniques including wax and liquid resist to create the lace around the neckline.. Salt was also used on the hair as it moves the paint around while it dries creating beautiful effects. The salt crystals are still visible on the painting creating sparkling light when viewing the picture from different angles.
Best framed under UV glass to protect the delicate watercolour washes. Carefully packed and shipped flat in a box to preserve the texture of the salt and paint.
