Flowers, LeWitt's treehouse, Chester CT II

An oil pastel inspired by the beautiful place I am staying during my residency at Sol LeWitt's studio in Chester, CT. This is the apartment above the garage, or, as everyone calls it here: the treehouse, as it surrounded by beautiful trees and windows run on three of its four side and there are skylights on the floor so it's like being immersed in nature all the time! As you can image I am loving the amount of light here (every time I came in I wonder if I left the lights on but, no, it's just the natural light flooding in from above!) and the fact that during these full moon nights I feel like I am sleeping under the stars. But what it's most important is that Sofia took care of even the tiniest detail and made sure that everything is beautiful here. I promise nothing is "ugly" here, not even the bathroom sponges! I am so grateful to be surrounded by all this beauty that I had to pay homage to it, so I made this drawing of the flowers on the bedside table. And I do not usually like to draw flowers but these looked already like they have drawn by someone, they were so precise and clean.

Having the chance to work in Sol LeWitt's studio is a huge privilege and the experience and growth goes behind the actual time spent in the studio, instead is made of all the people Carol and Bruce are introducing me to; the town, the rites (like going to the synagogue), the social gatherings like the Sunday market (a great place for people watching) and the chance encounters in town.

Treated with three layers of fixative spray.

The artwork must be protected with a glass and a frame.
