Awakening

Awakening marks the first quiet spark of light after a long period of darkness. It is not the end of the journey, but the moment hope begins to return, the gentle realisation that healing is possible and that, little by little, we can begin to find ourselves again.

It is the beginning of returning to oneself: the quiet moment when hope stirs, healing begins, and the path forward slowly comes into view. Rather than offering certainty, it speaks of possibility, the first gentle step towards becoming who we were always meant to be.

Built through many layers of oil paint, delicate veils of light emerge through softer, muted tones. Every texture and brushstrokes reflects the beauty of transformation, where strength and vulnerability exist side by side. Rather than hiding what came before, each layer becomes part of the story, allowing light to rise through the painting with honesty and quiet resilience.

Although rooted in my own journey, Awakening is intentionally open to interpretation. It invites each viewer to pause, reflect and discover their own meaning within its atmosphere, offering a space for hope, stillness and renewal.
