This work is part of the Flora of Resilience series.
It brings together a verse from a song that became an anthem of resistance in Brazil during the years of military dictatorship with the presence of the white rain lily (Zephyranthes candida). Native to South America, the flower blooms after long periods of rain, emerging in the quiet aftermath of storms.
Here, the botanical form is approached as a symbolic structure rather than representation alone. The rain lily becomes a point of tension between fragility and persistence, holding within it cycles of rupture, renewal, and return.
The work moves between the political and the intimate, where a collective memory of resistance intersects with personal and sensory experience. In this space, resilience is not declared, but held within the image.

Flora of Resilience is a series of limited edition prints that draws from Brazilian flora and its cultural, symbolic, and historical layers.
Developed through detailed ink drawings, the works originate in observational practice, while extending into an investigation of how botanical forms can operate as carriers of memory, identity, and collective experience.
Each piece establishes a dialogue between scientific attention and symbolic construction, where plants are approached not only as subjects, but as systems through which personal and cultural narratives become visible.
Produced in collaboration with a master printer, the editions are developed with a focus on material integrity, longevity, and sustainable processes.
