Swimming Koi Carp. Cut from paper, painted with high pigment professional watercolour and hand shaped. These koi are raised off of their watery painted background to form shadows and to replicate the beautiful shifting shape of swimming koi.

This piece is one in a series of koi carp paper cut pieces that I started developing over the summer.

Months of watching koi swim, studying their form and movement went before these pieces were created.

Each piece is unique with variations in the silhouette of the koi, their individual markings and the background painting.This picture can be hung landscape or places on a shelf and is signed on the front.
