This art piece is made of a natural white stoneware ceramic. Produced utilising a hand-built coiling technique, a slow and meditative process, before being high-fired within a ceramic kiln. During its production, I intuitively explore through movement and touch how I can work with, not against, the medium.
This piece is part of a series inviting a reflection on the relationship between femininity, the human body and energy exchange. Some may describe feminine energy with the energy of creation, trust of intuition, creative expression and an ability to 'be' which I embody within this series. I aim to evoke a further appreciation of the female body through subtle shapes, folds and nuances of human imperfection. I celebrate the occurrences of imperfection through 'flaws' of irregularity and dissymmetry displayed throughout the forms. There is beauty in 'imperfection' and power in acceptance. I feel this should be celebrated as a form of being human.
Please note that this vessel is not internally glazed, and is to be used for decorative purposes.
