This painting was inspired by daily walks around Oaxaca and each morning some new beauty catching my eye. The subject and process of this work, and all my work, are in the spirit of Rumi's Guest House poem: each sight, each mark, each layer, each unexpected outcome welcomed rather than resisted. This is what it feels like to life ~ and to paint in ~ flow. Part of an ongoing series inspired by Oaxaca, Mexico.
