The photograph highlights the Sakura blossoms in Greenwich Park. I particularly love how the film picked out the soft greens in the leaves alongside the pinks, giving the whole scene a nostalgic mood. Captured on my Pentax ME Super a vintage 35mm camera that is older than I am! Using expired film stocks brings out those lovely, unpredictable colour shifts, heavy grain, and soft, warm tones that digital just can't recreate. Working directly into the print, I hand-embroidered geometric patterns across the image. Each thread colour is chosen to mirror and complement the natural hues of the blossoms, sky, and foliage. Original, one-of-a-kind artwork (signed and titled by the artist).
