From a series inspired by Frank O' Hara poetry. An ongoing project with my artist friend Shannon Milar.
The title comes from the poem "Having a coke with you". I remember taking this photo in 2022 on Little Island in NYC.
This person caught my eyes because of their outfit: almost all black, from the sweater to the shoes to the New Yorker magazine tote bag. I was "chasing" him up the steps trying to take a good photo of him to then transform into a drawing when he stopped to take a photo himself, with a camera! I thought it was just perfect, taking a picture of him while he was taking a photo himself: it's so of our times, when we are almost constantly taking photos. I hope this artwork will transport you to the beautiful city of New York, one of the best place for people watching.
