A large scale close cropped image of a Japanese Water Iris against a deep violet background. The depth of the background looks almost black from a distance, but is created using a pure violet pigment to create a bold sheen that lifts the flower forward under natural light.

This current collection from my ongoing Urban Nature works includes some large scale pieces inspired by time spent in diverse environments including los angeles, Las Vegas, and Puglia over the last 12 months, as well as parts of India, Canada and the Greek Islands, exploring the impact of native and non-native plant-life on local ecosystems and environments. these pieces are inspired by non-indigenous and invasive plant-life, and encourage contemplation on the impact they have on the environment, ecosystem, and community.
