“Blushed” is also inspired my Moroccan colours, both the architecture and the light. This painting references the sun and the moon, alluding to the natural cycles. The forms are inspired by anything that exists naturally, as well as grows in this world, such as plants and bodies. These forms have a blushed appearance to reflect the effect of being under the sun over time. It exists on top of an ultramarine sea. At this point in my work I wanted to isolate my creatures, to give them more space to breathe. Blushed exudes confidence and importance, as it looks down on the viewer. It grew over time and became comfortable being alone.
