Willdlands

Wildlands is created from found imagery sourced from vintage atlases and travel books. Small illustrations of hills, mountains and distant landscapes are carefully selected for their, form and texture, then composed into a mathematically precise dot composition. Many of the images date back up to seventy years and were produced using traditional lithographic printing methods. The greys. blacks and and soft sepia hues characteristic of these older prints lend the landscapes a subtle, dreamlike atmosphere.

Each original plate is carefully extracted from the books and hand-bonded onto birch plywood, creating a textured, painterly surface. The sheets are then laser cut into 16 mm dots and reassembled into a structured geometric field, transforming dispersed landscape fragments into a cohesive composition.
