I've always found it somewhat haunting that, at the end of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', all of the lovers have their spells lifted except Demetrius. We leave him to happily live his life in complete ignorance of how he really feels. With this work I wanted to capture the otherworldly tension of that state.
