One of a collection of three mixed media painting inspired the dried remains of last years wild plants found along the river Deben in Suffolk. I used the faded, brittle stems, leaves and seed heads to make mono prints on tissue paper using a palette of colours to remind me of walking by the river on a cold winter’s day. The translucent prints were arranged in layers with old book pages and painted papers. I then added areas of paint and ink to highlight the simple silhouettes some of which can barely be seen.
The finished piece was bonded to a cradled wooden panel making it ready to hang on a wall or deep enough to stand on a shelf. Artwork size: 8” x 8” x 1.5” or 20 x 20 cm x 4cm.
