A grey day at Lake Windermere, it rains a lot here hence all the lakes so grey days are common and I have painted it that way to give you the atmosphere of the place.

Windermere, at 10.5 miles long, one mile wide and 220 feet deep, is the largest natural lake in England, and is fed by numerous rivers. The Romans built their fort of GALAVA at its northern end (Waterhead), and it has always been an important waterway for movement of heavy materials.

Oil on a 30 by 20 inch canvas, framed in a hand painted wooden frame in the same colours of the painting. I painted one other from another angle with similar colours to have a matching pair.
