Autumn has always felt like a gentle surrender. The light fades earlier, the days slow down, and we’re invited to do a little less and rest a little more. I painted this piece for an Autumn Exhibition, thinking about that shift in rhythm and the quiet beauty that comes with letting go.

In this piece, the dahlias feel as though they are jumping off the canvas, beautifully contrasted by the rich blue background. In the evening light, they seem to glow with their own warmth, coming to life in a way that fills the space with a soft, cosy energy. Surrender was very warmly received at the exhibition and is now back in my studio, ready to find its new home. This painting is a quiet reflection of slowing down, accepting imperfection, and finding peace in the spaces where things don’t go to plan.

For shipping outside of the UK, the artwork will be removed from its stretcher bars, rolled and packaged within a shipping tube. Your framer will easily be able to organise re-stretching.
